Apart from clinical works, Dr Ketan also plays an active role in both teaching and research. He was also involved in many haematology research projects. He has published his research in international publications.
Dr Ketan Bavishi graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Gujarat, India in 1987 before becoming a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australia in 2008.
Dr Bavishi settled in Cairns in 2010, where he practices at Liz Plummer Cancer Centre. He has extensive experience over 20 years in both clinical and laboratory activities including haemostasis and thrombosis, transplantation, acute and chronic leukaemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma, thalassaemia and blood transfusion. Although retaining broad haematological knowledge, Dr Bavishi has a special clinical interest in lymphoma, leukemias and myeloproliferative disorders.
Dr Bavishi has an ongoing passion and commitment in educating and working alongside GPs to ensure integrated care for his patients.
